Hello Friends,
Hope all is going well at your end.
I’m not a tech person or blogging expert. Just a simple Indian guy trying to learn these website things slowly. Few weeks back, my cousin from Kerala asked me to help him build a website for his small travel agency. He runs backwater houseboat tours there.
We didn’t want to hire developer or spend too much money.
After trying 2–3 free themes and getting confused, I found one theme on ThemeForest. Its name is Tourm. Looked clean and perfect for travel website.
So I thought, let me give it a try. Now after using it, I’m writing this post to share my honest experience. Maybe it can help other people like me, who are beginners but want to make a travel website in India.
Let’s begin my small journey
What Is Tourm Theme?
Tourm is a paid WordPress theme. It is made specially for travel businesses. You can use it if you are:
- A tour operator
- Travel blogger
- Homestay or hotel owner
- Travel startup
- Or even a solo traveller
With Tourm, you can easily make pages for:
- Travel packages
- Booking or enquiry form
- Destination photos and info
- Blog posts
- Resort or hotel details
And the best part – you don’t need to know coding. It works with Elementor, which is a drag-and-drop tool. Just place blocks and edit.
Why It’s Good for Indian Travel Sites
Local Booking Options
As we all know, in our country, travel bookings are not always fixed. Many times people want to customise things like number of days, group size, etc.
Tourm has nice features like:
- Date picker
- Person count
- Price adjustment based on group
- Enquiry forms
This helps for small tour agents who also take bookings by phone or WhatsApp.
Works on Mobile (Even in Small Towns)
In India, most people use phone internet like Jio or Vi. I tested Tourm on basic hosting and low-speed data. Still, it worked smoothly. Pages opened fast.
Gives Travel Vibe
Tourm has beautiful sliders, photo gallery and clean layout. So even if you are beginner, your site looks professional.
No Coding – Just Drag & Drop
Tourm uses Elementor builder. That means you can add sections like:
- Tour details
- Photos
- Booking button
- Customer feedback
Just select and place. My cousin was able to edit also after I showed once.
SEO & AdSense Ready
The design is clean and light. It loads fast. And also has space for Google ads. So if you are a travel blogger, you can earn also.
Indian Language & Arabic Support
Many people in India want website in their own language. Tourm supports Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Urdu etc. Even Arabic is supported. It works with TranslatePress and WPML plugins.

It gives complete feel of a proper travel site.

- Works well with WP Rocket
I used shared hosting, still the site opened fast.

If you want to sell something like:
- Travel e-books

Tourm supports WooCommerce. Also Indian payments like Razorpay, Paytm and Stripe work nicely.
Travel Blog + SEO Tools

Final Thoughts – Is Tourm Worth It?
So friends, if you are planning to start a travel website—whether for business or blogging—I really feel Tourm is a good choice.
We made full working website in 2 days, without spending too much or taking help from developer.
Yes, at start you have to learn few things like Elementor. But once you try 1–2 times, it becomes easy.
Under ₹6000, we got a fast, mobile-friendly, and modern travel site.
I hope my small story helps you in some way. I’m still learning. But wanted to share whatever I experienced.
